The many styles and languages have influenced Gisele Duque’s style she’s been exposed to, ranging from bossa nova and samba Irish folk music, soul, and rock n’ roll.
A multitude of styles and languages has influenced Gisele Duque's all-embracing style, ranging from bossa nova and samba to soul and rock n' roll. Singing in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and sometimes even Chinese, she is an eclectic songstress. Her versatility and charm can carry her from an intimate show with a small crowd to a fervent carnival.
Gisele Duque started her singing career at the age of 12, performing at restaurants, private parties, and weddings. She spent this time hoping and was eager for something bigger. When this hope came to fruition, it took her from her home in Brazil to tour through China, Hong Kong and Macau. The culmination of this tour saw her living at sea, performing for Celebrity Cruise Lines and bringing her music to over 13 different countries.
Duque’s all-embracing style has been influenced by the multitude of styles and languages she’s been exposed to, ranging from bossa nova and samba to soul and rock n’ roll. We are a volunteer-run non-profit organization whose purpose is to support and promote the cultural, visual, and performing arts in the Sugar Land area. We host the Sugar Land Arts Fest which is an annual two-day festival of artwork, music, and dance in Smart Financial Centre Plaza. The event features over 100 local and regional artists, live musical performances on two stages, as well as dance groups that perform throughout the evening.
