Houston's Zach Person has been hailed as one of the most exciting young blues artists to emerge on the music scene in recent years.
Hailing from Houston, Texas, Zach Person is a House of Blues Music Forward Foundation Alumnus, representing the Houston Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge, a competition featuring some of the foremost blues artists from around the world; these opportunities would later lead to Person sharing stages with legendary acts such as Buddy Guy and Robert Cray.
"I like to be in a quiet space free from distractions when I write a song. I usually have an acoustic guitar and pen and paper. I try to flesh out the whole song as much in my head as possible before picking up the guitar. Sometimes I’ll need to mess around with the guitar or a piano to get inspired, and then I can continue the process in my head/notebook."
"Once I have the song completed, and it feels good with just an acoustic guitar and my voice, I’ll start making demos and adding in the bass, drums, and electronic elements. Jake always elevates my often “basic” percussion ideas and makes the “pop.” Then it’s a process of recording, listening, tweaking, and repeating."

We are a volunteer-run non-profit organization whose purpose is to support and promote the cultural, visual, and performing arts in the Sugar Land area. We host the Sugar Land Arts Fest which is an annual two-day festival of artwork, music, and dance in Smart Financial Centre Plaza. The event features over 100 local and regional artists, live musical performances on two stages, as well as dance groups that perform throughout the evening.
